💡 Opportunity: Agent Reputation Tool

When you hire someone you get a resume, interview data, and reference checks that together give you a sense of the person’s experience and reputation.

With agents, there’s nothing like that.

Both within big companies, and for agents you find online and are trying to determine whether to use or not, a Trustpilot-esque reputation filter would save wasted time and also likely encourage builders to have a higher quality bar for their agents in the first place.

🧠 Framework: 4 Levels Of Competition

Pepsi doesn’t just compete with Coca-Cola.

This week’s framework identifies four different vectors a product competes on.

Let’s use CPG beverage as an example:

  1. Direct competition → This is literally Pepsi v. Coke. These are the products who are offering essentially the same product or service, aiming to solve the basically same user’s same problem in the same way.

  2. Indirect competition → That same user’s same problem can be solved in different ways too, though. This would be Pepsi vs Mountain Drew.

  3. Form competition → Those first two are well known types. Form competition is when a different product category is attempting to solve the user’s problem but through a different form factor. For example, when you’re dehydrated you might reach for Gatorade or bottled water. Very different products, and clearly more differentiated than Pepsi vs Mountain Dew, but still competing.

  4. Generic competition → At the end of the day, no customer is required to buy a drink. There are other categories trying to solve other problems competing for the same dollar. Instead of Pepsi, maybe they choose an ice cream sandwich.

Your job is to present such a compelling offer that none of these four types can sway your ICP.

🛠 Tool: Emergent

Got an app idea? Emergent AI turns your description into production-ready apps, from architecture to deployment.

Just say what you want and the platform builds it, no coding required. Over 10 million people across 190 countries have shipped 12 million+ apps, and 70% of them had never written a line of code. Founders, execs, and fast-moving teams use it to go from idea to a live application in a fraction of the usual time.

Describe your idea, watch it build → emergent.sh*

📈 Trend: AI Lead Generation

In the last few years we’ve seen LLMs make coding and design substantially easier.

But what about GTM?

If AI makes product less defensible and GTM more important, it logically follows that a focus (both by emergent startups and the big frontier labs) will be on solving GTM next.

💬 Quote: Ambition Shapes Reality

If you set achievable goals, you will achieve them more often.

But is achieving goals really the goal?

If the goal is actually to create outlier outcomes then leaning into ambition when initially setting your goals will help you get there.

It doesn’t matter if you check off each of your quarterly KPIs, it only matters where your business gets to.

Apply that philosophy to the rest of your life and you can achieve greater things than you’d otherwise be likely to.
